Peter is responsible for all Financial Insights’ research, sales, marketing and conference activity in the EMEA region. His principle activities are working with analysts to identify the key issues affecting the technology decision-making in financial services. These are translated into added-value analysis, delivered in a timely manner to enhance clients’ business decision-making capabilities. This ensures clients derive the maximum benefit from both FI research programs and our ability to customize these for individual business development needs by working closely with FI and IDC sales managers.
Industry Expertise
Over 25 years following and writing about the activities of the global financial markets, initially as an economic journalist and then as a capital markets analyst and independent consultant to suppliers of information products and services to the investment markets.
Background
15 years as a financial journalist in a variety of global business centers, mainly as an economic correspondent for real-time news services such as Reuters and AFX, but also 4 years as Investment Editor of The Star, South Africa’s largest circulation daily paper. Thereafter, spent 7 years in senior positions delivering and managing research and analysis services that covered all aspects of the capital markets for divisions of Standard & Poor’s and Thomson Financial. In those capacities worked closely with clients in the professional investing community to develop and launch new products and services to meet the changing needs and knowledge dynamics of the marketplace. Prior to joining FI he was a consultant working on business and product development projects for a wide variety of providers of analytic tools and information services to end users in the professional investment and asset management communities.
Education and Industry Affiliations
Educated in the UK and the US, prior to becoming a journalist on specialist financial industry publications and thereafter, international news services. Previously a member of the Investment Analysts Association of Southern Africa. .
